Rehearsals

Setting up large light modifiers to capture a soft light evenly on my clients faces is one of the most challenging but rewarding types of images.

At the rehearsal I capture some candid moments of the Barmitzvah boy practicing his Torah reading. But the most enjoyable images are the ones created with soft lighting around the child and family members' proud smiles, while I frame shots of the rabbi offering gentle guidance and mum and dad adjusting his tallit. The energy is intimate and anticipatory, my lens freezing fleeting expressions of joy and nerves before the big day.
